Pregnant with triplets is uncommon. The chances of having multiple babies are low and complicated to take care. Pregnant with triplets occupied only one percent of the total births population. The incidence is however increasing due to more and more fertility techniques. Pregnant with triplets’ mother may need to spend extra time and energy to look after their babies.

If a mother is having triplets, they need to be more alert and careful.  It is because pregnant with triplets is not easy. Although most of the multiple pregnancies proceed smoothly, there are still certain amounts of risks that are involved in pregnant with triplets. Therefore, their respective doctors may require them to have frequent checkups than those mothers that are only pregnant with one baby. Pregnant with triplets’ mother will need to plan their time properly.

However, the number of babies that are conceived is always higher than the number of babies that is born. This means that during the pregnancy period, there may be some factors that lead to the loss of babies. Most of the pregnancies that started off with multiple may ended up with lesser because one or more fetuses did not develop. Hence, before the pregnancy is diagnosed, some of the fetuses may have already disappeared.

Family genes, history and ethnic background play a part in having triplets. These are also the factors that increase the possibility of having triplets. Some women may have ovulated more than one egg as compared to other women who are also pregnant. It is best to inform the doctor if your family members may have given birth to triplets, multiples babies or they themselves.

Doctors who are in charge of examining pregnant with triplets’ mother might also put them under close supervision. One of the reasons is because there are greater risks in multifetal pregnancies. These are some of the factors that pregnant with triplets should take note of. This includes: Preterm Delivery, Chromosomal Abnormalities, Diabetes, Preeclampsia and High Blood Pressure, Intrauterine Growth Restriction, Feto-Feto-Fetal Triplet Transfusion Syndrome (FFFTTS), Multifetal Pregnancy Reduction and Selective Termination.

These few factors can determine and make changes to the life of a pregnant mother. In conclusion, it is very important to be aware and alert of all of the potential problems that are coming by. So, if there are any developments or tremendous changes, both the mother and the doctors can recognize it early and find ways to manage it properly to get the best outcome.
